In this episode, the recent passing of Joel Kallman, Vice-President of Software Development at Oracle. Joel was not only one of the creators of APEX (along with Mike Hichwa), he was also the APEX community’s most ardent evangelist. He made it his mission to help people all over the world discover and work with APEX. His tireless dedication and the sincere attention he gave anyone who approached him are some of the reasons APEX is so popular today. So many people owe him a debt of gratitude.
This week’s tip involves rectifying the sluggishness caused by an over-solicited REST service on a well-known manufacturer’s website. As Anton and Hayden demonstrate, had the site been built with APEX, the problem could be fixed in less than 5 minutes.
Following the tip, Hayden and Anton Invite people from the audience to join them in remembrance of Joel.
