Montreal, April 17, 2018—Insum (www.insum.ca), a Quebec company recognized for its innovative applications solutions and a specialist in the Oracle database and the Oracle Application Express (APEX) development tool, today was presented with Montreal’s 2018 Abe-Limonchik intercultural award in the business category. Michel St-Amour, Insum’s cofounder and president, received the distinction at Montreal’s city hall from Ms. Magda Popeanu, vice-chair of the City of Montreal’s executive committee and head of housing, property management and planning, as well as community diversity.

“At Insum, we view cultural diversity as one of our greatest assets and strengths. We make a point of hiring immigrants. This cultural diversity now accounts for 35 percent of our work force in Montreal. Our involvement in several programs that encourage intercultural relations has specifically led to the hiring of a number of employees with skills in very high demand in our business sector. We also value the cultural and religious practices of everyone in our company and place great importance on the balance between work and personal life. We view this recognition as an invitation to continue and we encourage other companies to do the same,” Mr. St-Amour says.

Established in the wake of recommendations by Montreal’s intercultural council, the city’s Abe-Limonchik intercultural award highlights the outstanding contribution by an individual, organization or business to improving intercultural relations and promoting diversity in Montreal.
